So my friend Tony invited us out for dinner at Budd's Broiler of Richland in Tri-Cities Wa. Of course being into mushrooms I ordered the Portobello entree... Very glad I did. The mashed potato's were perfect, and the chips you see in the photo are made from Taro root. They actually thin slice the root and bake the chips right there in house. The Ded.reckoning Flintlock Merlot, also from Washington State, was very nice, and paired well with my vegetarian mushroom dish.
Just for fun I sandblasted a rad symbol onto the back of the "Grandpas Jug" bottle with the football helmet...I live in Eastern Washington where science, football (go Seattle), and the nuclear industry are all part of the local landscape.
When I can I love to go vegetarian. Although these vegetarian burgers don't have mushrooms. They're made with Eggplant and Cauliflower Drizzled in Olive Oil Tapenade made with 1/4 cup Oil, minced fresh parsley, basil, garlic powder, celery salt, pepper to taste. Also love used home made buttermilk (Uncle Dans) salad dressing...
